Botanical name: Aeschynanthus micranthus    Family: Gesneriaceae (Gloxinia family)
Synonyms: Aeschynanthus parviflorus, Aeschynanthus guangxiensis

Small-Flowered Blushwort is a tree-dwelling hairless herb, drying purplish. Leaves are 5-10 x 1.2-4 cm, elliptic-lanceshaped, tapering, fleshy, hairless; base pointed or rounded; leaf-stalk 5-15 mm long. Flowers are brick red, about 5 cm long, at branch-ends or lateral in clusters, flower-stalks 1-1.5 cm long. Sepal-cup is hairless, sepals linear-lanceshaped, 1.2 cm long. Filaments protrude out. Capsule is 12-15 cm long 6 mm wide, shallowly channeled. Small-Flowered Blushwort is found in East Himalaya, China to SE Asia. Flowering: September-October.
