Botanical name: Eulalia shrirangii    Family: Poaceae (Grass family)

Shrirang Eulalia Grass is a small annual grass with stems 5-20 cm, round, clustered,very slender. It is named in honor of the botanist Shrirang Ramchandra Yadav at Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Leaf sheaths are 1-3 cm long. Leaf blade is 1-3.5 x 0.1-0.25 cm, linear, flat, hairless or hairy. Flowers are borne in 1 or 2 racemes, 1-2.5 cm long. Stalkless spikelets are 2-2.7 x 0.5-0.6 mm, narrowly elliptic, awned. Stalked spikelets have morphology similar to the stalkless spikelet. Shrirang Eulalia Grass is native to Western Ghats.
