Kanara Sapphire Berry is a tree. Leaves are elliptic,
with a tapering tip, rounded toothed to sawtoothed, with 5-8 pairs of
nerves confluent in intramarginal vein, 7.5-115 x 2.5-6 cm. Flowers are
borne in spikes up to 45 cm. Flowers are whitish with prominently protruding
stamens. Berry is 2.5-3 x 1
cm, ellipsoid; endocarp 6-ribbed. Kanara Sapphire Berry is found in
South W India, mostly in Uttar Kanara.
