East-Indian Short-Helmet Orchid is a small to medium
sized terrestrial orchid with elliptic-lanceshaped or
ovate-lanceshaped, tapering leaves. The following characteristics
distinguish this one from the other known Brachycorythis species. The
lip epichile is round-ovate or broad, mostly notched at the tip and
1.2-3.3 cm in length and not very broad. The width of the petals is
three times their length. Leaves are lanceshaped, up to 14 cm in length
and 3-5mm in width. Plants are 15-60 cm in height. The spur has a
narrow tip and is 1.0-1.2 cm, curved. East-Indian Short-Helmet Orchid is
found in NE India to China and SE Asia.
