Dwarf Hornfruit Jurinea is a stemless herb with
pinnately cut leaves which are linear-oblong in outline, 5-12 cm long,
green on both surfaces or white beneath. Flower-heads are stalkless,
1.2-3.7 cm across, with linear leaves below. Florets are purple, all
similar, 1.2 cm long. Flower-head bracts are lanceshaped pointed. Fruit
is 4-5 angled, 5 mm, angles thickened ending in erect spines. Dwarf
Hornfruit Jurinea is found in Western Himalaya, at altitudes of
4300-5000 m.
