Botanical name: Swertia densifolia    Family: Gentianaceae (Gentian family)

Dense Leaved Swertia is an erect annual herb, 1-3 ft tall. It has quadrangular leafy stem. Leaves are stalkless, crowded. broadly ovate, 2-4 cm long. Flowers occur in dense corymb-like cymes, with leafy bracts. Pretty white flowers have 4 ovate petals, 8 mm long, with blue lines on them. Stamens are four, with prominent orange anthers. Flowering: January-February.
