Coral Shrimp Plant is a tall shrub, sometimes reaching
up to 10 ft high, but normally it is kept around 3-4 ft by trimming.
The rose-red tubular flowers are borne in orange-red bracts on 8 inch
long spikes, in an unusual color combination. The showy spikes are
borne at branch-ends, many together. The long tapered elliptic leaves
are glossy green to yellow-green, with depressed veins that add a
corrugated texture. Coral Shrimp Plant is native to Central America,
cultivated as garden plant elsewhere.
