Chinese Abelia is a spreading, deciduous shrub that reaches 5-7 feet tall
and about 8 feet wide. Leaves are dark green, ovate, glossy and 1-2 inches
long, lighter green beneath, with serrated margins . Many fragrant, small pink-flushed white tubular, funnel-shaped flowers appear all summer through
fall. Flowers are about 1.2 cm long, and the stamens and carpel stick to
the flower-tube. Chinese Abelia attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. It
is also cultivated in gardens.
