Botanical name: Corynandra chelidonii    Family: Cleomaceae (Spider Flower family)
Synonyms: Corynandra pulchella, Cleome chelidonii, Cleome schraderi

Celandine Spider frower is an annual herb, growing up to 50 cm tall. Leaves are 1- or 3-foliate at the top and 5- or 7-foliate at the base. Leaflets are obovate, middle one 2-3 cm long, 0.5-1.5 cm wide, lateral ones 0.8-1 cm long. Flowers have 4 rose colored petals, and big mass of over 100 stamens in the center. Capsule is hairless. The seeds are used by the natives as a mustard in their curries, on account of their pungency. Flowering: January-March.
