Yellow Lepidagathis is a small perennial herb, native to the Western Ghats.
It has several erect filament-like stems, velvety and covered with soft
hairs. Leaves are linear-folded. Spikes clustered about the root, are velvety
and covered with soft hairs. Bracts are ovate to circular, with a long spiny
point. Flowers are small, yellow. The whole plants looks like a hairy,
velvety ball on the ground, hence the common Marathi name Bhui gend.
