Two-Eyed Dendrobium is a large sized orchid growing on
trees or on mossy limestone cliffs with centrally swollen, drooping,
ribbed stems, tapering towards the tip, carrying 6 to 10, ovate to
lanceshaped, pointed, deciduous leaves. The plant blooms in the spring
and summer on a slightly fractiflex, nodding to drooping, 15-20 cm
long, loosely 6 to 15 flowered inflorescence arising on older leafless
canes. Flowers are spreading, orange, disk with a rounded chestnut or
deep purple blotch on each side, anther cap pale yellow. Dorsal sepal
elliptic, 14-16 x 10-11 (or more) mm, 7-veined, lateral sepals oblong,
14-16 x 9-10 (or more) mm, 7-veined, tip blunt. Petals are nearly
elliptic, 14-16 x 8-9 (or more) mm, 5-veined, margin entire, tip blunt;
lip somewhat kidney-shaped, about 15 x 17 mm, above densely finely
papillate, base clawed, margin shortly fringed, tip notched. Two-Eyed
