Tall Wild Rose is a common shrub rose, widely distributed, and growing from 1500 m to all the way to 4000 m. A shrub from 1-2 m high, with straight, slender, yellowish prickles. Leaflets 5-9, obvate or almost round, obtuse, grey-blue. Flowers born singly, usually pink, with a white centre all entirely white, scented. Fruit bottle-shaped to globular, red. Native to the western Himalayas from the Pamir in central Asia to Kashmir, Tibet and Afghanistan.
