Small Sepal Willow is a low creeping, mat-forming shrublet, often with stems rising up to 20 cm.Leaves are narrow elliptic, narrowed to the base, short-stalked, 1-3 cm long, toothed. Leaf blade is glossy above. Male flower spikes are up to 2 cm, ovoid, born on short leafy stems,Fruiting catkins are ovoid, 1.5 cm. Small Sepal Willow is found in the Himalayas, from Uttarakhad to SE Tibet, at altitudes of 3300-4300 m. Flowering: June-July.
