Small Rattlepod is the smallest of all rattlepods - an
annual herb, 15 cm or so tall,
densely silky. Leaves are linear, very small, 6-18 mm long, densely silky,
blunt at tip. Yellow flowers are borne in lax 3-6-flowered racemes at
branch ends. Sepal cup is bell-shaped, silky, 2 mm deep, teeth long, all
linear. Flowers are pea-flower shaped, barely protruding beyond the sepals.
Pods are 4 mm long, thinly silky, 4-8-seeded. Small Rattlepod is native
to the Western Ghats. Flowering: July-August.
