Sikkim Orchid Ginger is a perennial herb with stems
slender 5-10 cm long. Leaves are up to 5-8 cm long, 1.2-2.5 cm broad,
stalkless, lanceshaped, tapering. Flowers are borne solitary, with the
base hidden in the sheath of uppermost leaf. Bracts are green, 1.2 cm
long. Flower-tube is slender, twice as long as the bract, 2.5 cm long.
Segments are 8 mm long, linear-oblong, dark lilac, staminodes white,
circular narrowed, lip circular, white, entire. Sikkim Orchid Ginger is
found in E. Himalaya, NE India.
