Short-Lip Jewel Orchid is a small sized, ground orchid
with a loose rosette of nearly heart-shaped to broadly elliptic,
pointed, velvety leaves which are maroon to garnet, base netveined in
gold to copper, matt-red green on the underside. The plant blooms in
the summer through mid fall on a 7-12 cm long, velvet-hairy
inflorescence with several to many flowers. Flowers are up to 1.5-1.8cm
across; sepals olive-green and white, lip white, mesochile teeth green.
Short-Lip Jewel Orchid is native to Nepal to East Himalaya, China and
N. Vietnam.
