Rosemary Bulb-Leaf Orchid is found in Kerala as a mini-miniature sized epiphytic orchid. It has ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, leathery, narrowly elliptic, blunt leaf. The plant blooms in the summer on an erect, 10 cm long, densely many flowered inflorescence. Flowers are yellow and fruity scented. This new species was described from Idukki and kannur districts. It is related to Bulbophyllum tridentatum of Burma and Thailand but different in having erect non-geotropic leaves, truncate-angulate , acute dorsal sepal , broad-based,oblique falcate-sristate petals and yellow lip with brown papillae throughout except the median furrow. The pleasant fruity smell of this species is very characteristic.
