River Blumea is an annual hairy herb found along river banks in Western Ghats. Stem is reddish-brown, branchlets hairy, mixed with gland-tipped hairs. Leaves are 5-6.5 x 3-4.5 cm, stalkless, elliptic or obovate, tip pointed or blunt, base narrowed, irregularly toothed, lateral nerves 6-8 pairs. Flower-heads are 7 mm across, flower-cluster-stalks and phyllaries hairy, mixed with gland-tipped hairs; flower yellow. Achenes ribbed, hairy along the ribs. Flowering: November-December.
