Botanical name: Didymocarpus aurantiacus    Family: Gesneriaceae (Gloxinia family)

Orange Stone Flower, the most beautiful species of Didymocarpus, seems confined to a very narrow area in outer Sikkim. It may be very local in distribution. The flowers are striking in their orange colored tube which is narrow cylindric with a flaring mouth consisting of 5 rounded petals. Leaves are large, ovate, dark green.
