Narrow-Cage Ceropegia is a rare herb known only from
several hills around Phonda and Salva in the Konkan region. The leaves
are relatively narrow lanceshaped, light green in color, 5-8 cm long.
The flowers are quite large, 4-6.5 cm long, straight, greenish-yellow;
flower tube 1-2.5 cm long, abruptly dilated at the base, hairless,
greenish outside. They appear on a pinkish stalk and are
more or less completely yellowish green. The petals make up the half of
the flowers length, they sometimes show two dark dots on the inside.
Sepals are linear, hairy, about 8 mm long. The flowers are quite similar to
those of Tender Ceropegia, but the
cage is swollen in Tender Ceropegia, and narrow, straight in Narrow-Cage
Ceropegia. Flowering: August.
