Botanical name: Begonia megaptera Family: Begoniaceae (Begonia family)
Large Winged Begonia is a rare and interesting Begonia, native to NE India.
Leaves are large, ovate in shape. Flowers are white with pinkish tinge. A
prominent feature is that the sepal cup is prominently 3-winged, and the
wings are quite large. The species name megaptera means large wing.
Large Winged Begonia is found in East Himalaya, West Bengal and Myanmar.
