Lahaul Fleabane is a perennial clustered herb with a
strong woody rhizome and reaching a height of 3-19 cm. Stems are 4-8 cm
long, wavy-hairy, sometimes glandular; basal leaves are stalked,
lanceshaped to lanceshaped, 2.5-6 cm long, entire, wavy or even
coarsely toothed, pointed or blunt at the tip; stem leaves are small,
linear, sometimes completely falling off. Flower-heads are single,
reaching a diameter of about 2 cm; bracts are broadly cylindrical,
bracts in 2-3 rows, linear, up to 8 mm long, hairy. Ray flowers are
whitish, up to 4 mm long. The fruit is an acorn with white fluff.
Lahaul Fleabane is native to Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan,
Tadzhikistan, West Himalaya, at altitudes of 3000-6000 m.
