Ladakh Reedgrass is a perennial grass with stem short
stout, leaves erect convolute, panicle short oblong contracted dense.
Stem is 1.5-2 feet, erect. Leaves are 7-15 cm long, 4-6 mm wide, very
rough above; sheaths scaberulous; ligule oblong. Flowers are borne in
panicles 10 cm long; branches short, erect or nearly so, rough.
Spikelets are erect, crowded, pale, shining, 4 mm. Ladakh Reedgrass is
found in Western Himalaya to Western Tibet, at altitudes of 4000-5000
m.
