Golden Eulalia Grass is a perennial grass with stems
up to 1 m tall, clustered, nodes hairless. Leaves 5-40 x 0.8 cm,
linear-lanceshaped, densely hairy above; ligule a cluster of white
hairs. Flower-racemes are 3-15 cm long, yellowish-brown, densely hairy,
stalkless. Spikelets are 5 mm long, awned, densely hairy with golden
brown hairs; florets 2, lower empty, upper bisexual; second lemma
awned, awn to 15 mm long. Stalked spikelets are up to 4.5 mm long,
awned or not. Golden Eulalia Grass is native to South India, Sri Lanka,
S. Central China to Indo-China. Flowering: September-December.
