Funnel-Flower Silverberry is a shrub, erect to
climbing. Leaves are elliptic to oblong-elliptic, 6.5-10 x 2.6-4.9 cm,
shortly tapering, base rounded to rounded-wedge-shaped, margin wavy,
upper surface becoming hairless, lower surface densely silver-scaly
with some scattered reddish brown scales; leaf-stalk 0.8-1.2 cm.
Flowers are borne on very short shoots in leaf-axils. Flower-stalks are
3-5 mm. Flowers are 1.1-1.3 cm, funnel-shaped with spreading tepals,
creamish with small brown dots. Tepals are ovate, 2-3 mm. Stamens are
inserted in throat; filaments about 0.5 mm; anthers 1.5 mm. Fruit is
oblong-ellipsoid, 1.6-1.8 cm long, about 1 cm broad. Funnel-Flower
Silverberry is native to Eastern Himalaya, from Nepal to Bhutan and NE
India, at altitudes of 1200-2000 m.
