Deccan pigeonpea is an annual slender climbing herb with
stem patently hairy, and trifoliate leaves with hairy leaflets. Leaflets
are obovate, with a tapering tip, lateral leaflets obliqe, woolly, up to
7 x 4.5 cm. Flowers are yellow, pea-flower shaped, 2 cm long, confined
towards the tip of leaf-axil racemes. Sepal-cup is red, velvet-hairy.
Pods are hairy, 3 cm long; 4-5 seeded. Deccan pigeonpea is native to
SW India and Sri Lanka. Flowering: October-February.
