Crescent Rattlepod is an erect shrub, 2-5 m tall,
stems densely velvet-hairy, often becoming hairless. Leaves are simple,
ovate or elliptic, 6-13 x 3.3-8 cm wide, upper surface hairless, lower
surface densely greyish velvet-hairy; leaf-stalk 1-2 cm long; stipules
leafy about 1 cm long. Flowers are borne in racemes about 15 cm long;
flower-stalks about 1.5 cm long. Flowers are 2.5-3 cm long, yellow with
red-brown striations, wings are longer than keel; keel incurved at
middle, beak about 1.5 cm long, twisted at tip. Sepal-cup is about 1.5
cm long, velvet-hairy. Flowers are 2.5-3 cm long, yellow with red-brown

slightly curved like a moon crescent, seeds about 5 mm long, glossy.
Crescent Rattlepod is found in Southern Western Ghats.
