Botanical name: Spathiphyllum cannifolium Family: Araceae (Arum family)
Synonyms: Dracunculus cannifolius, Anthurium dechardii, Pothos cannifolius Canna-Leaf Peace Lily is an evergreen clump-forming,
herb, growing up to 50 cm tall and about 60-90 cm wide. Leaves are
large and glossy, elliptic, dark green with sunken leaf vein, quite
resembling the leaves of
Canna. Flowers are borne in slender spadix,
ivory in colour. The spadix is accompanied by a spathe which is large,
pale yellow to ivory colour, folding backwards, exposing the spadix.
Canna-Leaf Peace Lily is native to S. Tropical America, cultivated
worldwide as a houseplant.
