Bent Himalayan Coneflower is a very beautiful plant,
It was named in the honour of horticulturist Joseph Sabine.
Flowers are pale blue, 2.5-3 cm, velvet-hairy on petals, tube cylinderical
for about 5 mm, then bent 90 degrees and abruptly widened to 1 cm at mouth.
The flowers open two on each spike at a time, never more. Oppositely
arranged elliptic leaves are highly unequal in each pair. Leaves are
purplish or almost white on the underside. Bent Himalayan Coneflower is
found in the eastern Himalaya, from Nepal to NE India, up to altitudes
of 1900 m. Flowering: November.
