Bandar is a perennial shrub growing to 1-2 m high. It has many ascending
branches towards the top. The stem has brown bark. Alternately arranged
elliptic, serrated leaves are 5-20 cm long, with prominent nerves.
Purple-white flowers occur in dense branched corymbs, 5-10 cm diameter.
Purple flower-heads, 5-8 mm across, are clustered at the end of branches.
