In the vast meadows of Western Ghats, the Angel Orchid captivates
observers with its pristine white blooms amidst the lush green wild
grass. Its leaves, typically solitary, are heart-shaped and rounded,
resting flat on the ground. The flowers, appearing in clusters of 1 to
5, feature petals with a bilobed shape. The lip of the flower has three
narrow lobes, with the spur extending beyond the ovary. This herb grows
as a ground-hugging plant, reaching a height of 12 cm. It is among the
earliest flowering plants to emerge in the Western Ghats during the
start of the monsoon season. Flowering: June-July.
